About VPDS - Philosophy Head
A building environment should enhance the quality of life for those who live, work and learn there.

VPS has followed this principle for forty years by practicing what we call High Performance Design. High Performance Design is a long-term, life-cycle approach that results in longer-lasting buildings, which cost less to operate and maintain. Our design examines each component within a building and then fully integrates these systems into a whole-building design solution. Different from conventional design, VPS' holistic approach considers the relationship between site, structure, energy, materials, indoor air quality, acoustics, lighting, and technology.

It is proven that High Performance Facilities improve learning and overall achievement, increase satisfaction, and reduce absenteeism all while being more economical to operate and maintain. The costs are the same, so why would you build a conventional building when you can have a High Performance Facility for the same cost?

In addition, we believe strongly in an open design process that involves all stakeholders. We call this process a 'charrette' — a guided discovery of your vision. It is a fun, intensive, hands-on planning and design workshop that identifies all of the needs and requirements specific to each project. An incredible synergy is created when users and owners participate in the design process.

We provide careful, comprehensive management of every aspect of the design process — from initial needs analysis to state-of-the-art computer models and group presentation materials.
