Evansville's
Downtown Riverfront
Evansville’s Riverfront, often called Indiana’s new “Front Door”, includes a park, jogging trails and stadium seating, all with a scenic view of the Ohio River. The $11 million project was completed in the fall of 2001.
The Riverfront has helped turn downtown Evansville into a vibrant gathering place to enjoy the sites and sounds of the river. It creates a welcoming gateway to visitors from the South. The tiered seating becomes a bustling grandstand during “Thunder on the Ohio”, a premiere hydroplane race during the Freedom Festival each July.
