As technology has advanced and the philosophies of academic and research libraries have evolved into a collaborative and flexible approach, the variety of spaces within all higher education buildings are becoming more of a focal point. IU sees the need to thoroughly analyze their Main Library, and plan out a more open, enhanced and flexible facility.

VPS confirmed programming and space requirements for the Main Library. IU envisions their main library to emphasize open teamwork and participatory environments, as well as group and private study spaces. VPS is currently developing a phased implementation for this plan that will ensure full occupancy of the building while all changes are implemented. We are also preparing full presentation documents to assist with fundraising activities.
