Toyota
Child Care Center

The Toyota Child Care Center, built for Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Inc. in southwestern Indiana, provides a nurturing environment for children of Toyota’s workforce on the campus of this major automobile manufacturer. Light, bright materials and toddler-sensitive imagery reinforces Toyota’s desire for a building that speaks volumes about Toyota’s commitment to its employees and to the general public. Built for just under $3 million, the facility provides space and services for all day care ages, from infants to pre-school age.

Veazey Parrott Durkin & Shoulders provided the design imagery necessary to capture Toyota’s vision of a non-institutional setting with plenty of natural light. The entry atrium has become a popular spot for visiting parents to interact with administrators and to observe the inner-working of the building through glass “portals” or viewing windows. VPS has shown, once again, that high quality, high-performance design does not need to cost more. In fact, the VPS design philosophy saves resources and owner dollars from the day buildings open and through their entire lifespan.
